Worksoft Certify Features

Worksoft Certify Test Framework

All automation projects involve the license or development of some form of test framework, which is the infrastructure code that manages all the aspects of automated execution. Worksoft's innovation has made the Worksoft Certify test framework generic to any application by moving all application-specific information into data and storing it in a repository instead of inside the code.

The Worksoft Certify test framework comprises a comprehensive test repository and supporting interface libraries. It is an advanced data model that captures your applications, test requirements, plans, cases and data in a relational database that enables traceability among all of your test assets and processes.

The interface libraries provide the best of both worlds. They include extensive, pre-written functions for the set of object classes and actions Worksoft supports for each platform interface. They also offer a custom layer that allows each customer to add any custom classes or functions that may be needed to satisfy the special needs of a particular application or situation.

Robust and reliable automated tests demand extensive logic to handle even the most basic elements of managing execution, making decisions, handling exceptions and recovering from errors.  Worksoft Certify has it covered. Buying a complete test framework already developed and fully supported enables QA teams to shift time, resources and ingenuity to addressing only what is unique to their applications – expanding test coverage and improving throughput and application quality.

So, Worksoft Certify comes complete with most of the functions of a test framework, including:

State Management
Timing Synchronization
Context Verification
Dynamic Data
Dynamic Objects
Navigation
Using Lists
Decision Making
Exception Handling
Result Logging
Dependency Handling
Error Recovery
Automated Maintenance

Summary

What makes the Worksoft Certify test framework unique is not that there isn't any code, but that most of the code is already written and the rest is easy to add and integrate. This gives our customers the best of both worlds — out of the box functionality that is commercially supported and maintained, plus the freedom to extend it based on their own needs and timing.

The real benefit, though, is that no matter where the code comes from, the users of Worksoft Certify that develop and execute tests never have to see it! Once the code is completed, all tests are developed through an analyst-friendly, point and click interface that shields subject matter and quality experts from the underlying code infrastructure, so they can focus on the application they are testing…and that means more coverage, faster, resulting in higher quality and shorter time to market.
