The Cucumber Framework for Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) Framework
The Cucumber Framework for Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) Framework has become one of the most widely accepted open source testing frameworks in the industry because of it’s easy-to-read Gherkin language. It enables non-technical users to document test steps before a UI has been developed.
Start Testing Sooner by Converting Gherkin Scripts to Worksoft Certify Automated Tests
To support BDD, Worksoft has built a Gherkin converter for Certify. This allows business users and testers to describe entering data/actions in a UI before the UI has been built. After the UI is built the converter uses machine learning and leverages the underlying object library in Certify. When an object match is not found, we then enable the user to auto-heal the object via LiveTouch. This object gets saved into an object library so the label in the script is recognized vs. requiring the Gherkin scripts to be updated. The next time the converter is run, we can match against that object without user intervention. The Gherkin Converter learns over time and requires less user interaction.
