Another SAP TechEd has come and gone, and we still can’t believe how much great content and valuable presentations were shared at this year’s conference. Although we may be a bit biased, our favorite was delivered by Judy Zeman from Carrier Corporation. Judy walked a packed crowd through Carrier’s journey from manual to automated testing, and outlined the important lessons they learned along the way. The audience heard in detail how they implemented automated testing across the SAP and web applications their business depends on. She also shared some recommended best practices for other companies looking to adopt automation across their end-to-end business processes.

Judy also sat down for an interview with Susan Galer from SAP TechEd TV. When asked how automated testing aligns with Carrier Corporation’s vision, Zeman said “Carrier Corporation is the leading provider of air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration solutions. We are continuing to implement SAP across the rest of our business, as well as undergoing a digital transformation that includes our web and mobile applications. Management expects us to be able to do more with less, therefore reducing our project throughput. Automated testing allows us to do that.” Watch the full interview below to hear about their automation objectives.

Worksoft also hosted two networking sessions at this year’s show. The first focused on how businesses can accelerate and expand the scope of process discovery efforts. With automatic discovery of as-is business processes, companies gain accurate insight into their actual day-to-day process execution. This knowledge can be used for documentation and training, as well as the foundation for automated testing. How do you know what to test? You need to know what your critical processes look like! Session attendees learned how Process Mining for SAP captures historical transactions to rapidly build a robust library of test cases. See the complete presentation.

The second session was about best practices for automated testing for SAP S/4HANA and Fiori. The reality is the UI is evolving and while it’s easier to use, it’s not easier to test. It’s more important than ever that end-to-end processes are working as designed, every day. During this session, we explored ways companies can simplify and accelerate the delivery of S/4HANA with fast, iterative testing of Fiori. You can find the slides.

SAP TechEd 2017 offered attendees hundreds of sessions on a variety of topics, including the latest on SAP’s Leonardo, DevOps for SAP, machine learning, HANA, the cloud, and more. It was quite a week for Worksoft – and we’re looking forward to SAP TechEd in 2018!

In case you didn’t make it, we’ve highlighted some of our favorite photos from the show below.
