ORLANDO, FL (May 6, 2008) - Worksoft, Inc., a leading provider of testing solutions to automate, accelerate and optimize deployments of SAP® applications, today demonstrated the latest release of its flagship product Worksoft Certify version 8.2.1 at the ASUG Annual Conference and the SAPPHIRE® 2008 Orlando conference, SAP's premier business technology event. This release of Worksoft Certify, scheduled for availability by the end of the second fiscal quarter of 2008, allows interchangeable tests to be executed against both the SAP GUI for Windows and HTML.

Reusable content with database model

Worksoft Certify's database-centric model for storing and executing test assets allows pre-defined tests for key SAP applications to be quickly loaded and customized based on each customer's unique configuration of solutions. Release 8.2.1 furthers this technological advancement by also allowing the identical pre-defined tests to be executed against either SAP user interface.

“Worksoft customers benefit from improved testing and dramatically reduced implementation times, since their test assets are delivered with the implementation, and can be quickly updated based on their unique customizations of SAP solutions,” said Bruce Johnson, president and CEO of Worksoft. “For our customers, these pre-defined tests cover more than 80% of SAP transactions in use by the customer. Now, by extending this test suite to seamlessly support either of the predominate SAP user interfaces, our customers can leverage the flexibility of SAP applications to support their specific business needs.”

No coding with database model

Worksoft Certify allows tests to be defined using a menu-driven interface. This unique ”scriptless” approach to functional and business process validation is especially important in SAP solution-based testing, as business analysts and functional users most familiar with the application can actively create, execute, and maintain tests.

“Scripting-centric tools are labor-intensive not only for the initial creation, but also for maintenance. Scriptless testing will reduce overall testing costs and enable better coverage, which should lead to improved defect detection earlier in the development cycle,” said Thomas Murphy, research director at Gartner. “Companies that lack effective testing strategies and technologies may experience higher implementation costs and rollout delays.“

“Worksoft Certify's next-generation database design has served our customers well in ensuring that no scripting code is required -- ever,” Johnson said.  “Leveraging this design to provide reusable content further empowers our customers as they validate their business processes against the latest releases of SAP solutions.”

Fast to deploy, easy to maintain

Worksoft Certify provides a single integrated platform for testing business processes across the enterprise without relying on time-consuming and inefficient scripting processes. Processes that span multiple technologies and platforms, such as SAP solutions, .Net, HTML, JAVA, and even the mainframe, can be effectively tested in a single, seamless test process. Worksoft Certify's unique “learn” feature maps each screen of the customer's application to automatically discover all of the functions it contains, such as input fields, labels, and pull down boxes, among others.

Information and demonstrations of Worksoft Certify 8.2.1 are available at Worksoft's booth (#1878) at ASUG and SAPPHIRE.
