Honorees Selected for Operational and Strategic Excellence in IT

DALLAS, May 1, 2017 – Worksoft®, a leading global provider of automation software for high-velocity business process discovery and testing, today congratulated Lannett Company, Inc., on being recognized as a recipient of the 2017 CI0 100 award by CIO.  The 30th annual award program recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT).

Lannett, a developer, manufacturer and distributor of generic prescription pharmaceutical products, was acknowledged for making the shift from manual to automated business process testing to drive faster innovation across the organization. Lannett utilized Worksoft Certify software to automate 90 percent of its business process testing, reduce production defects by 60 percent and achieve a 40 percent cycle time savings per SAP project.  Worksoft automation was also used to generate reports and documentation that streamlined reporting for FDA validation and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

“Manual testing was time consuming and required collaboration with many technical and business resources,” said Robert Ehlinger, CIO, Lannett. “With a planned SAP upgrade, we recognized we would have to do extensive testing prior to going live into production. Without automated testing, it would have been virtually impossible to achieve coverage and ensure the quality of our business processes,” he said.

“Worksoft congratulates Lannett, under the leadership of CIO Robert Ehlinger, for this prestigious industry distinction,” said Jim Kent, CEO, Worksoft.  “We are pleased to help Lannett carry forward its vision to support growth, deliver greater innovation and accelerate the organization’s digital transformation,” he said.

Executives from the winning companies will be celebrated at The CIO 100 Symposium & Awards Ceremony, to be held Wednesday evening, August 16th, at the Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Coverage of the 2017 CIO 100 Awards will be available online at CIO.com on August 16, 2017 and in the July/August issue of CIO's digital magazine.

"Technology innovation and business value have always been at the heart of our CIO 100 awards, which honor the IT organizations thriving on the front lines of the digital revolution," said Maryfran Johnson, Editor in Chief, CIO Events. "This year's winning companies are outstanding examples of how IT leadership, business collaboration and customer engagement are shaping the future," she said.

About the CIO 100
Recipients of this year's CIO 100 Award were selected through a three-step process. First, companies filled out an online application form detailing their innovative IT and business initiatives. Next, a team of external judges (many of them former CIOs) reviewed the applications in depth, looking for leading-edge IT practices and measurable results. Finally, CIO editors reviewed the judges' evaluations and selected the final 100.
